Arikata was created from the woodcraft passion of Colin MacInnes. Colin is a woodsman hailing from southwest Michigan. After completing his education in aviation science, Colin refocused his talents on agriculture and later carpentry as an apprentice under a master carpenter in his home state. He has worked with urban landscape companies since coming to New York City, creating fine carpentry for outdoor green spaces. He is also a member at Super Smith Studio, a shared woodshop in Red Hook, where he has a studio for working on his fine carpentry projects through Arikata.
